How Citation Hawk works

Citation Hawk uses DataForSEO, a third-party data provider, to query Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Claude on your behalf. We submit the prompts you provide, record which sources are cited in the responses, and compile those results into a weekly report.

We are not affiliated with DataForSEO, Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic. The results we surface are determined entirely by those platforms and their underlying models.

Results may vary

AI citation behaviour changes constantly. Results differ between queries, models, and over time. A site that is cited one week may not be cited the next, and vice versa. Citation Hawk reports what the AI platforms returned at the time of the query. We make no guarantees about accuracy, completeness, or consistency of results.

Use the reports as a directional signal, not a definitive audit. Act on them at your own discretion.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide a valid email address and ensure your prompts comply with the acceptable use policies of Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that attempt to misuse the service.

Payments and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate shown at sign-up. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect immediately. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.

Limitation of liability

Citation Hawk is provided as-is. We are not liable for any business decisions made based on our reports, for downtime of third-party AI platforms, or for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email. Continued use of Citation Hawk after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
